Efficient and sustainable disposal of Wind turbine blades
The disposal of 30-meter-long wind turbine blades presents companies with immense challenges. With ENOVA Power, Krebs Unternehmensgruppe For the first time, innovative methods are being used to make recycling processes efficient and environmentally friendly. The project demonstrates how technological strength and clear communication enable a sustainable solution.
ENOVA Power was faced with the task of disposing of several 30-meter-long wind turbine blades. The challenges involved:
- No precise data on the weight and center of gravity of the blades.
- The use of waterjet cutting in this form had never been realized before.
- Safe and efficient transport of the segmented sheets.
The Krebs Unternehmensgruppe developed a tailor-made concept that scored points with innovative technology and well-thought-out logistics:
- Precise segmentation: Waterjet cutting with a hand lance (2.500 bar) ensured fast and safe shredding.
- Efficient logistics: Crane technology enabled the safe handling of the blades.
- Sustainable practices: Pump sumps and filter systems were used to collect and treat wastewater. Container systems reduced emissions.
